Ross Carlson has joined Montana State University's Chemical and
Biological Engineering Department as an assistant professor. His
research areas include metabolic network analysis of microbial
physiologies and metabolic engineering. He continues his
association with the biofilm control research group in MSU's
Center for Biofilm Engineering, where he investigates surface
coatings strategies to retard or prevent biofilm formation on
medical devices such as catheters. Carlson joined the CBE in 2004
as an assistant research professor after completing a post
doctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities,
where he earned his doctorate in chemical engineering in 2003.
