Diffusion into a biofilm cell cluster

alt="Your browser understands the <APPLET> tag but isn't running the applet, for some reason." Your browser is completely ignoring the <APPLET> tag!
Transient diffusion of rhodamine B (red) into a S. epidermidis biofilm cell cluster imaged by confocal scanning laser microscopy. The time indicated is the time, in seconds, after the first appearance of the dye in the flow cell. At approximately 380 seconds, the rhodamine B solution was replaced by buffer. The field of view is 500 microns on each side.
