The CBE Image Library


The images in this library are low resolution (75 dpi)  gif- or jpg-format bitmapped pictures. The images have been electronically watermarked for copyright protection. They are intended for use ONLY in preparing presentations and posters which explain CBE research concepts. 

 

As a courtesy, and for our records, please contact Peg Dirckx before you download any images. We are happy to be able to help you with communicating to others about biofilm and the CBE.  Please credit the CBE and the sources noted when you use any of the images in this library.

 

 

Acceptable use information


What's OK:

If you have requested permission to use this library, you may use the images 

   1) in presentations (computer-generated or film slides) or 

   2) on posters (one print only, of any one image),

   3) in a print thesis or dissertation, or

   4) in a science / engineering proposal to a granting agency.

Please credit the CBE and the sources noted when you use any of the images in this library. 

 

What's not OK (unless you have express written permission from the source and CBE):

   1)To publish any of these images on another web site;
   2) to submit any of these images for print reproduction; or
   3) to make multiple copies (of any type) for distribution

How to acquire images


1. Click on a Category below or at left.

 

2. Click on the thumbnail image you want to use – you will be linked to a full-sized (11" x 7.33") version of the image.

 

3. When the full-image page opens, right-click on the image and select "Copy" (or "Save Image as. . .  in Netscape) from the dialogue box that appears.

 

4. Open a presentation in PowerPoint. Make sure that page set-up is for 35mm slides.  Select page you want the image on.  From the edit menu, select "Paste."  (or if you have saved the image from Netscape, use the Insert > Picture > From File menu list). Voila!
